Where am I and how far will I travel?

I get lots of messages asking me where I am. Although the heading of every page states my location(!), visitors clearly don’t notice so I’ve added this page to expand on this.

I’m in a small village called Great Bedwyn which is just west of Hungerford, Berkshire, and about 10 miles south of Swindon. The further you are from me the more a visit will cost but I’m happy to do the driving if you are happy to pay for my time spent driving.

There is a catch though if you are more than 90 minutes’ travelling time from me. With visits of 90 minutes or less I give a full parts and labour guarantee meaning that if a part I fit fails, I’ll visit and replace it free of any and all charges. However, if you are more than 90 minutes away I limit the terms of my guarantee to ‘parts only’. This means if a part fails then I’ll replace the part itself free of charge under warranty, but you’ll need to pay for another visit if you’d like me to fit it. Now I can see this might not seem fair at first but the alternative is I simply decline without giving a reason, all repair visits more than 90 minutes away. So if this condition is acceptable to you, I’m happy to visit and fix your boiler provided I can drive to you and back in a day. Sadly most London visits are more than 90 minutes each way so any London visits I am persueded to make will almost all be on a restricted guarantee basis. Also, for London (and any town centre) visits I require a guaranteed legitimate parking space to be available for my (car sized) van. (Instructing me to park in a random space obviously belonging to someone else WILL result in me driving away and not repairing your boiler!)
